Ok, here are the playlists:
Sweet:
Alabama – “Mountain Music” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_5sPHnIalw Leadbelly – “Alabama Bound” Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys Willie and Waylon The King in the Steel City (New years eve 1976) |
RockStar Rambler:
Alabama:
Moosehead – Will and the Bushman – mainly because I love this song and have always wanted to put it on a list. Will Kimbrough lived in Alabama (also rumored to have lived in a van in Oxford near the Gin for a while).
Alabama – Cross Canadian Ragweed (saw this Oklahoma band play this song about Alabama in Texas)
Texas:
That’s Right (You’re Not From Texas) – Lyle Lovett
Voting open until midnight January 1.
————————–
TB’s slackin a bit lately. I’m in South Carolina with family continuing the chaos of the Christmas holidays. We drove all day from Oxford, MS, to Charleston, SC, the 26th, left the 27th to visit Savannah (a really beautiful place), then a day in Beaufort and finally back to Charleston for some recovery time before New Year’s Eve. Hopefully I can get something on the blog while we’re gone and hope all those toys from Santa are still keeping everybody happy.
I hereby vote for RSR simply because I don’t want to see Sweet win
On a unrelated note…two mornings in a row, now, I have awakened with Iron Maiden’s ‘Run to the hills’ chorus blaring in my mind. Not sure why, but my guess is that on the third morning I will spontaneously burst into flames for not heeding the warning.
My vote is for Sweet!
The first time I ever got drunk, I was passed out in a buddy’s lowrider pickup and was jarringly woke up to “Run to The Hills” blaring in my ears. I was all alone in the truck and don’t know how the song got turned on… Its been downhill ever since.
By the way… I vote for Sweetness.
I vote for sweet.
In sticking with tradition, should I go opposite of Sweet? Nah, I vote for Sweet. Without him I don’t know how I would have made it through the season.
And I’d like to cast a vote for Harmony’s comment. That is awesome!
Wow, talk about getting my vote in at the last minute! But I’d like to point out it’s only 11:00 here. But it’s definitely January 1st, I can tell by the hangover. My hair even hurts.
I gotta go with my boy Sweet.
I am late, but vote for RSR.
