Ok, TB gloated at the end of last year, all summer and just before the beginning of Season II. There was a good reason for that. I suck as a picker and last year was a fluke. But it was my fluke by God. So I had to revel in the glory up to the last possible second. I lost my POTW and went a miserable 2-3 on the bonus picks. Only Fig managed to stumble out of the gates as poorly as TB, not counting “all in” losers. Overall, there were 9 POTW winners and 10 losers this week. Q, I expect you to wrap that hammie tight and participate this week. As you can see from our collective week 1 performance, understanding the lines has little to do with winning and losing. It’s pretty much just a random ass guess. Well, last year wasn’t for TB–I was awesome. (Sorry, just had to get in one more little moment of gloat.)
Here are last week’s results and the current standings. Oh, there wasn’t a lot of action on voting for Song and Theme of the Week, so I just extrapolated from the ratings and comments as best I could to award points. I gave the theme points to RSR for her “1st lines for the 1st week” and the song points I’m dividing between TKH, Mc, Irv, Fig and Sweet. I deducted points from Face for his song, but restored them for sitting through the Tulane game and posting updates here. MD and SM lost one point each for not submitting some tunage. Hell MD, I even said you could go with a concert OTW. Wuss. 20 participatory points for players with bonus picks and 10 for all-in losers. Oh yeah, the standings–the top 9 won their POTW:

I should throw out a plug for Fig’s non-partisan healthcare playlist, which was both timely, ironic and rockin; my vote for Irv was a tough call. Fig if you would’ve added a link to “I’ve got a fever and the only cure is more cowbell” it would’ve put you over the top. I thought that was where Mc was going at first. Speaking of which, Mc you are probably being unintentionally penalized for being new, because your SOTW’s are coming in strong and being noted by management.
