Who Are You People Anyway?

Quote of the Day:

A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls.” –Vice President Dan Quayle

TB is loadin up the truck and gettin ready to head out for the long 4th of July Weekend. I don’t know whether I’ll get a chance to post here until I get back, though I plan to try. I’m looking forward to getting the batteries recharged and finding some inspiration. My gang is heading to Hot Springs and Little Rock, Arkansas, to see the sites, knock a couple of easy outs off our 1000 Places to See in the USA book and celebrate Independence.

In the meantime, I thought I’d conduct some market research. Recent naysaying here on the blog got me wondering what most people like and dislike most about the site and also what their thoughts are on some of the “hot” issues of the summer of 09. Feel free to amplify in the commentary if you like and also be assured that your votes are anonymous. I cannot tell who voted for what or even if you vote or not. So everybody needs to participate. I think the results will be interesting to anyone who frequents the TB universe and I’m looking forward to finding out how accurately I’ve got the group mentality pegged. But of course, I’d never pigeonhole you good folk.

About travellinbaen

I'm a 40 year old lawyer living in Ridgeland, Mississippi. I'm several years and a couple hundred miles removed from most of my old running buddies so I started the blog to provide an outlet for many of the observations and ideas that used to be the subjects of our late night/happy hour/halftime conversations and arguments.

Have a wonderful vacation! I’m going to go take some surveys. If the question was “Do you love surveys?” I’d answer “yes”.

  2. samsmama says:

Oh, hell ya! Just noticed that the surveys are from “polldaddy.com”. I’m all over him. It. Whatever. I’m sorry. I’m ridiculous. It’s been a day.

So when the next person cast their vote, it will be painfully obvious what my answers are. But I don’t care.

As for the Michael Jackson question, you should have offered the answer, “Couldn’t care less that the kid toucher died. Poor Farrah.”

Sorry to ramble. I’ve been internet denied for 24 hours.

Of course, I love the humor and the rambling thoughts the best peppered with some sports and a pinch of politics. The politics usually end up pinching me in the end. Alot of it is over my head and I’m just plain disillusioned with it all.

So, I won’t lie I didn’t answer the where I get my news from, mostly because I get all mine from NPR and didn’t feel they were represented. Them and the Daily Show.

I know most of ya’ll probably don’t care about soccer, but the Brazil rules option is cold.

Also, global warming, a myth? Tell that to the polar bears and that big hole in our ozone layer. I didn’t know Sen. Inhofe read this blog. Good thing to know.

Happy 4th to all of you! I’m looking forward to sun, sand, fireworks and food – not necessarily in that order – with a large side of sun block for my glaringly white body. Have a safe trip TB!

IR – Enjoy the fireworks in a totally new location much closer to the original historical point of view. Have a crawtater or two!

  7. Special thanks to the one voter who had a least favorite vote but no favorite.

I can only assume all the topics except the one voted “least” were co-favorites.
