I haven’t checked the results from last week yet, but I’ll add them all up when we get to the Final Four and post the results. If your favorite team is still in and/or your bracket isn’t busted so you still care (unlike TB on both counts) here’s your chance to keep pickin the winners for posterity’s sake in the TB archives.
My winners–Connecticut, Xavier, Memphis, Duke, Arizona, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina
But I’ll probably be listenin to some tunes and playin with Elle instead of watching the games tonight and I think I might have to download one of the great all time albums, Willie’s Red Headed Stranger. I loaned out my CD over five years ago and its time to face the fact that its not coming back to me, so I might as well pony up the 9.99 to itunes. I couldn’t find a 70’s Willie on You Tube, but here’s the album lineup and the 80’s pigtail Willie singin one of the most beautiful songs ever.
- Time of the Preacher
- I Couldn’t Believe It Was True
- Time of the Preacher Theme
- Blue Rock Montana/Red Headed Stranger
- Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain
- Read Headed Stranger
- Time of the Preacher Theme
- Just As I Am
- Denver
- O’er the Waves
- Can I Sleep In Your Arms
- Remember Me
- Hands On The Wheel
- Bandera

Did that from memory so might be off one.

UNC, Oklahoma, Louisville, Michigan State
TB – you have inspired me to recall my own favorite Willlie Nelson album – Stardust.
JL, I was not aware that you liked Willie Nelson. How is this?
Not that I’m meaning to imply I don’t like Willie. I do. I’ve just never heard you speak of this, that I can remember.
Way before your time, my dear IR, I had the cassette of Stardust and I listened to it incessantly. That was right after the Urban Cowboy craze with Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee. MD’s cousin got picked out of the audience by Johnny Lee to come backstage at his concert – she was quite the looker. A little trivia not much and I digress. I loved “Moonlight in Vermont”.
Ah, the cassette. There’s why I didn’t know that. I didn’t recall any Willie in the now destroyed forever vinyl collection. I might have to peruse around this series of tubes and see if I can find any Willie on vinyl.
Willie’s Red Headed Stranger tour was one of RSR’s first concerts. As a loose tribute to Willie, “one of the most beautiful songs ever” and the weather, my weekend selection is So, Peter Gabriel. It’s like a greatest hits album.
Red Rain
Sledgehammer
Don’t Give Up – with Kate Bush
That Voice Again – my fave
In Your Eyes
Mercy Street
Big Time
We Do What We’re Told (Milgrim’s 37)
This is the Picture (Excellent Birds)
JL,
I am sure that my innocent cousin P.P. would not have gone backstage at a concert!!
MD – you have made me gasp and smile all at the same time! We will have to discuss this at some point and compare stories.
And I am now listening to the sound track of Urban Cowboy featuring Johnny Lee.
TB….Brother Carl and I took dates (who will remain nameless) to see willie in jackson….1979 tour….great concert…..both got lucky
Are they nameless because we know them or out of shame?
Nameless because we know them….no shame…still savoring the action as a matter of fact….btw, i never kiss and tell…except for the kissing part
