Thursday Pickin Season II, Week 3

TB didn’t have much time for the internets last week while touring Maine, just enough to keep the TBU spinning. The lack of time prevented me from commenting on SM’s story, Face’s “all-in” single tune (didn’t get that until today–very nicely done), Calico’s confusion, Feidt’s “success in the sheets, CTJ’s obsession, Larry’s boldly wrong POTW, Q’s appearance, MD’s concession, BR’s request….all of the things that make Thursday Pickin the best discussion threads on the worldwide web. I’ll be paying more attention this week. Looking at the tunage votes and ratings, I’m awarding the bonus for SOTW to Zeek and Theme to Irv.

    Sweet, the record in parentheses only refers to bonus picks. Everyone in the top ten won their POTW which is the main points component.

    Hey! I moved up a notch! AND got the comment of the week! I’m on a roll, beyotches!

    OK, picks are opposite of Sweet, as usual.

    SOTW is Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas and Poker Face by Lady Gagme. Reason being that it’s playing on Parks & Recreation right now.

    I won’t be around next Thursday, so do what you need to do. But my SOTW should be reggae themed, as I’ll be in Jamaica.

    Since it is still late Friday/ early Saturday and it is before kickoff, I would like to change my POTW to Cincinatti +2 vs. Ore St. and just bump my old POTW down to a bonus pick. Thank You. Cincy is a mortal lock to all you gamblers out there, you can thank me later.

    Not very many guesses on my tunes theme, I will wait for some more guesses before I reveal the answer. I’m sure you are all holding your breath with anticipation.

    I’m going out on a limb and saying the last three hours have been the best three hours of football on TV I’ve ever seen. I had picture in picture with a split screen flipping between the following games: USC-Wash, Va Tech-Neb, Fla-Tenn, ND-Mich St, USM-Va., and Utah-Oregon.

    it’s been pretty good. I like watching on tv with the laptop tuned in to espn 360 with 5 games streaming nowadays. But best ever? That would be tough to measure.

    Bullies win outright, and Mullen gets a Gatorade bath. Which is kind of sad. But not as sad as losing to Vandy would’ve been. I get to stay “hopeful” for another week or two in 09 now.

    Sorry JL, in light of my staying up WAY too late on Friday night and then being out in the sun at my kids’ football and baseball games on Saturday (hungover and sweating beer all day), I did not make the Scene 4 show and was asleep before 9:00 PM on Saturday. Next time, I will plan my drinking/staying up late schedule better.
